Emergency Staffing Solutions (ESS) has been providing emergency department staffing services since 2001. We specialize in low and mid-volume emergency departments with client hospitals in 13 states. 
 
With over 50 client hospitals and over 1,000 physicians, ESS is a growing company located in Dallas, Texas.  Our ability to provide our clients and physicians with immediate attention and prompt responses to issues is a direct reflection of our outstanding management team.

Our management team offers extensive experience and expertise in the emergency department management industry. This expertise has made ESS an industry leader in the suburban/urban sector of emergency
department staffing.
 
Ron Weiss is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of ESS. He has more than 30 years of experience in emergency medicine administration and practice management. He believes the cornerstone of our success is the commitment to quality patient care and professionalism.

 

Ron has constructed an exceptionally strong leadership team to collaborate with hospital clients on key decisions. Ron and his team have provided high quality care to low and midvolume emergency rooms across the country since 2001. Ron’s experience extends to Hospitalist medicine where he has been involved with hospitalist practice management for over 15 years in, at the onset of hospitalist care in rural and suburban hospitals. Ron’s primary company objective is to provide our clients and physicians with immediate attention and prompt responses to issues.

 

Shonda Rupe is Chief Operating Officer for ESS. She has been with ESS since its inception in 2001 and has been a key player in the company’s growth and success. Her 15 years of experience in Emergency Department Management have focused on rural and suburban facilities, including critical access hospitals. Her main goal is working with each client to assess specific needs and to define and coordinate the operational support allocated to that hospital. Shonda oversees all operational departments including recruiting, credentialing, and scheduling and is in constant communication with internal teams and hospital administration to ensure operational synchronization.

 

Hal Mayo is Chief Financial Officer for ESS.

 

Randy Richards MHA FAAMA, is Vice President of Sales for ESS and uses his 30 years of hospital CEO experience to provide insight to hospital-specific needs and better serve our clients. Randy is responsible for day–to-day program management and client correspondence. Randy meets with Administration no less than once a quarter to ensure that hospital administration is satisfied and issues are being addressed in a timely manner. He also meets with physicians and medical staff to review and coordinate quality and operational issues for each program.


Beth Jackson RN BSN CMC, is our Director of Clinical Operations and Performance Improvement for ESS. She has been an RN for 20 years and has extensive experience in hospital administrative nursing, quality assurance, performance improvement, case management and utilization management. She is well versed in infection control, emergency room, trauma, surgical, medical-surgical and behavioral health. Beth’s experience also extends to state, federal, and Joint Commission survey preparation / compliance and readiness. She consults with our partner hospitals to assist improvement of core measures, compliance, initiatives to improve patient satisfaction scores, case management consultant for admission and observation criteria, education and risk management / complaint investigation.

 
Dr. Leigh W. Dillard, Chief Medical Director
Dr. Dillard is a graduate of The University of Mississippi and The University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He did his postgraduate training at John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas. He currently continues in his private practice of Family Medicine in Mansfield, Louisiana where he has been located for 32 years.

Dr. Dillard is the author of “The ER Solution.” He is the president of the Desoto Parish Medical Society and Medical Director of the emergency department. He is also the Medical Director of the Parish Fire and Rescue Department, serves as Medical Director of several hospital departments including peer review and quality assurance. He is an Associate Professor of Undergraduate Education at LSUMC. He was selected 1998 Rural Physician of the Year by the Louisiana Rural Hospital Association.

Dr. Dillard has been the Medical Director for the Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi client hospitals for ESS since its inception 6 six years ago. He is well versed in physician coding and reimbursement issues. He is also very familiar with EMTALA and HIPAA guidelines. Dr. Dillard’s driving ambition as Medical Director of ESS is to “assist busy physicians in their understanding of these areas so as to free them from the pressures of regulation and let them practice medicine.”
 
Dr. Peter Way, Medical Director
Dr. Way is a graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He did his postgraduate training at Dallas Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Way was a private practice internal medicine physician at Medical City Dallas and Presbyterian Dallas prior to committing to full time emergency department work 17 years ago.

Dr. Way is the Medical Director for the Texas Department of Health Emergency Medical Service for many of the cities and groups located within the Dallas and Ft. Worth area and also acts as Medical Director for two large industrial plants.

Currently, he is the Senior Medical Director for ESS for our client hospitals in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. Dr. Way is committed to providing the best care possible to the rural hospitals we serve. He also feels that the physicians who work in the rural hospital facilities will grow to be an indispensable and appreciated resource to these communities.
 

Ronald Watkins Bryce MD, heads the physician leadership team at ESS. As Corporate Medical Director, Dr. Bryce conducts peer reviews, develops physician training modules and works with local Medical Directors to provide them with additional resources. Dr. Bryce has been with ESS since its inception and has worked as a Family and ER physician upon completing his residency in 1989 at John Peter Smith Hospital.
